Week 54

Hi Family,

So for starters we did service for the Bishop this week. Bishop asked for our assistence in cleaning up a plot of land, so Wedensday morning, armed with our two very rusty machete´s ( carrying a machete around is normal here) we went to chop some weeds. It was a lot of fun, my baby soft hands took a beaten but it was great. I still don´t know how to use a machete super well, I go to town on a little spot for a couple minutes, then my Dominican friend takes my machete and clears the whole section in 30 seconds....I´m going with A for effort!
Thursday morning we went to Haciende Estrellas, on Bicycles. It´s a bit far away and usually we take a gua gua, but we decided to take to the pedals. That took up most of our morning.
Friday we did a companionship exchange with the other missionaries in the district. I went to Los Polmares with Elder Oliveira. It was a good day, a couple appointments fell through so we passed by a number of less actives I knew from my transfer with Elder Rivero. I found out that one brother, Brother Rosado, has started attending church! He and his wife have yet to be sealed so hopefully he´ll keep up the good work so they can get to the temple!
Elder Oliveira is a great missionary, he´s working on learning english and has learned a lot and speaks really well. He might leave the mission field with three languages under his belt, what a blessing.
Saturday we finished the exchange, arriving in La Victoria. Elder Wolf informed me that the keys were inside the house and they were not. So Elder Beard and Elder Oliveira headed back and we awaited the assistence to come open our apartment with the spare key. We tried to study a bit on the apartment steps but ended up talking with the neighbors and ourselves. Eventually, the assistence arrived, opened the door and then left again. Life lesson, have more than one spare key.
That night we had our third English class which was really good. I´ve discovered that I´ve forgotten a lot of English, a lot. It´s been a good relearning experience.

The week has gone by quickly, transfers are next week and I think I might be leaving, but we shall see. I hope you all have a great week!
Love, Elder Call
